How is this object or story important to you?

It represents some of my values around Pride and its politics, particularly wrestling with state and corporate powers on Pride. I received a ton of good responses. I was informed that two days before Pride at the trans march, the police chief heading the TAVIS program attended and it signified a moment of opposition.

What does it add to the story of Toronto?

This is noteworthy because it focused on a particular neighbourhood, which already is associated with crime, violence and over-policing. I strongly feel that Toronto, or parts of Toronto, disproportionately affects the rights of marginalized people or those who are perceived to "interrupt the city". This adds to the list of protests.
